tattoo fevaaa!

As of late I've really had the itch for a tattoo... nothing dramatic, just something small and cute! I am seriously considering it. Here are some precious tattoos that I love!
I love Miss Katie's heart tattoo on her elbow! So cute!
This is one I'm considering getting.
I LOVE this one. I would get it much smaller and with the
quote "l'imagination entoure le monde" under it.
It means "imagination surrounds the world."

I probably would never get this one. But I just love cats SO MUCH. Meow.
"Me, I regret nothing."

I think this last one might be my favorite. Foxes are my favorite
and I would probably get a more meaningful quote in the banner.
Maybe. I sort of like "the wonderful."

I want so many tattoos! This might become a problem. There are others that I want, that are more meaningful... but these are just so wonderful. People tell me all the time that I don't seem like a tattoo person, but...I want one. Badly.

the best girls in the world.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 9: a picture of you and your best friend.
the most wonderful girls in the world.
from left to right: kayla, me, allie, and pruthvi.

senior year orchestra trip to Chicago. one of the best trips ever.

I seriously love these girls so much. I'm so lucky to have them as my best friends!

I met my dear friend Allie in 5th grade. We didn't really become good friends until 7th grade. And even then, we had maaaaaaany ups and downs. But we got through it, and we're oh so close now! She left me to go to Mizzou, and I miss her a lot! I just love that girl so much. She gives the best advice ever. Seriously. I don't know what I would do without her! And she won't admit it, but she totally loves my sarcasm. Totally. She calls me Sargent Sarcasm, and she's Captain Obvious. Yep.
one of our many early release day picnics. Senior year was perfect.

we're really silly and really weird.
Kayla, oh Kayla. I love her so dearly. We met in 7th grade, aaaaand we didn't like each other very much. At all. BUT, now we absolutely love each other. We started to get really close at the end of our sophomore year and now you can hardly separate us. She took this year off to focus on her passion, which is ballet. I'm so proud of her for doing it. She's an awesome dancer, really! And now she is off to Truman this fall. I'm going to miss her so much! Gah, I don't know what I'll do without her. We spend a freakish amount of time together, and we're just so silly all the time! So many shenanigans.

Pruthvi and I met in 7th grade. It was the first day of school, in orchestra. Pruthvi was brand new to
the school, and she was standing by herself somewhere across the room from my orchdork friends
and I. So, in an un-Sophie like fashion, I walked over to her and invited her to eat lunch with us.
And the rest is, as they say, history! She is such a wonderful, nice, and smart person. (albeit, really sassy.) She's at SLU now, because she's oh so smart. I just love her so much!

Aaaaaaaaaand my sister Chelsey. Of course. We share a brain, it's true. We have the same sense of humor, and our own language. She is the funniest person ever. I admire her so much. Even though she's... kind of mean to me. I love her so so much!

happy birthday week!

Today starts a magical, magical week. Birthday week.

Birthdays are kind of a big deal in my house. A bigger deal than they probably should be. But that's okay, we love it around here! To kick off birthday week, my mom a.) offered to do my laundry for me. This was SO exciting. I did a little dance. An it's-birthday-week-and-I-don't-have-to-do-my-laundry dance. b.) has a wittle surprise for me. Still waiting on that one. I equal parts hate and love surprises. I can never decide. I hate them so much before I find out what it is, but afterwards I love them. That's usually how it goes. Aaaaand c.) hung up birthday decorations! It's officially birthday central up in heeaaahhh! I'm so excited to see what else my week has in store for me! ;)

I just love pretty birthday cakes and pretty wrapping paper. :)

wanderlust.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 8: a place you have travelled, and somewhere you wish to travel.

In March, I went to New York City with my dad. I'm completely in love with that city. coooooompletely.

Strawberry Fields John Lennon memorial. It was wonderful.

payphones...they still exist?!

I flipped out a little.

"Nothing very bad could happen to you at Tiffany's."
Oh lord, Breakfast at Tiffany's is my favorite movie.

Broadway. Or heaven. Either one.

The new World Trade Center. So beautiful.

**all pictures taken on my phone using the vignette app.

Somewhere I'd like to travel is...everywhere. Really. I have a serious case of wanderlust. Wanderlust is just a STRONG desire to travel. I've got it bad. I can't choose just one place. I want to go to China, India, Greece, and even Africa! Backpacking across Europe is a must. I wish I could do it all! Especially France. I want to go there so badly. I'm taking a French class next semester, and I'm so excited! Okay, well that's all! xoxo, Sophie.

things that make me terribly happy.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 7: what makes you happy?

Oh, SO many things make me happy. My mom told me once that it's annoying how peppy I am. She's charming, I know. Anyways, I may or may not keep a list of things that make me really happy and look at it when I'm feeling down. There's no way of knowing. But here it is!

-my family (duh)
-MINT GREEN! AH!
-ballerinas
-writing in pen
-taking notes
-Target (I'm obsessed, okay?)
-cherry chip cupcakes
-Disney movies
-airplanes
-Michael Buble
-roadtrips
-leg warmers
-twinkle lights
-cookbooks
-Debussy
-Scheherazade
-BACH
-kitty cats
-knitting
-Harry Potter
-The Hunger Games
-essie nail polish
-blogs
-pinterest
-skirts+dresses
-the color orange
-sea horses
-cozy blankets
-reading a good book
-organization and order
-anything vintage
-New York City
-holding hands
-using big words
-my violin
-hair bows
-bright colors
-boys who wear bow ties

And that's not all the things!! I know this list is riiiiiiidiculously long, but just so many things make me happy. It's the little things, right? Right! And that's a whole lot of little things.
Also, this is completely unrelated, but I neeeeeeeeed a pretty vintage camera. So badly. Ugh, look at them!!

I hope everyone had a lovely day!

peeves, but not the poltergeist.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 6: what are your pet peeves?

First of all, if you don't understand the title of this post, get out. But don't really, we don't discriminate here. Except for against Twilight fans. Yeah, I said it. (seriously, I'm joking. Or am I.) ANYWAYS, on to the main point of this post. I have been downright giddy about this day of the blog challenge. Why, you ask? Because I have 14 billion pet peeves. That's not even an exaggeration. I touched on a few of my pet peeves in this post, but I'm going into more detail here. Here we go!

1. Improper grammar. Ohmygosh, this one irks me beyond belief. Google should be your best friend. Really. If you are unsure of how a word is spelled, it takes two seconds to look it up. I know most people don't like the time it takes to look words up in the dictionary, but when in doubt google. For the love of all that is Holy, please. Looking educated is FUN, let me tell you! Also, it takes .06 seconds to add an apostrophe. Just sayin'.

2. People who chew with their mouths open and chew loudly. Just think to yourself... "What would Effie do?" There, problem solved. Also, people who scrape their teeth on their fork. Worse than nails on a chalkboard.

3.People who act differently around different groups of people. This didn't used to bother me, because I had never been around someone like that before. But somewhat recently I experienced someone who was like this, and it genuinely perplexes me! There's a quote that I like and it goes,

"Better to be hated than to be loved loved loved for what you're not."

I don't know, there's just something about that quote that I really really enjoy. It's true though. What's the point of doing that? Why can't you just be yourself? It's manipulative and sly to do that just so everyone will like you. Le sigh. I could rant about this for hours.

4. Rude and ignorant people. Okay, everyone always talks about how much they hate ignorant/rude people... but if everyone feels so much disdain towards them, how on Earth are there so many?!? There are a lot of ignorant and rude people though that complain about the very things they are, without realizing they're talking about their own kind. It's a vicious circle.

That's all I can think of right now because it's supa late and I'm supa tired. Farewell, lovelies!

CRAZY hair that's somewhere between curly and straight, and Jim Halpert face. You're welcome. I swear, one
of these days I'll put actual pictures on here instead of just webcam pictures. One day.

swim.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 5: What song inspires you?

I really can't pick just one song, so I'm going to pick the three songs that inspire me a ridiculous amount. Enjoy!

Swim- Jack's Mannequin

This song is just so lovely. This is the acoustic version, but you can find the normal version here. It's no secret that Jack's Mannequin is one of my favorite bands (loyal fan since 8th grade, holla!) and this song is one of his most inspirational. The lead singer, Andrew McMahon (my future husband. He's just not aware of it yet. Neither is his wife...) is a survivor of leukemia, and many of the songs from his second CD, The Glass Passenger, are about that. But this one in particular is just so...perfect. It's a really positive and encouraging song, and I've never been able to get enough of it. I especially like the line, "I swim for brighter days, despite the absence of sun." It's a song about keeping hope, and I love it. Also, he's a monster at the piano. Love. Him.

Getting Into You- Relient K

I'm a HUGE Relient K fan. They're definitely one of my favorite Christian bands. This song is, obviously, about God and putting your trust in Him. Not too long ago I had a lull in my faith and spirituality. I was putting basically everything before God. It just wasn't a priority for me anymore. Which really sucked. It became somewhat of a chore for me, which isn't right at all. I was always like, oh, I'll pray tomorrow or oh, I'll read my Bible tomorrow. I said that every single day, and it never happened. I found myself really unsatisfied all the time, and I couldn't pinpoint why. But then some things changed, a person who was having a somewhat negative impact on me and my life wasn't around anymore, and I found myself becoming close with God again. And it's getting better every day. And this is a song that I definitely can relate to nowadays, and is SO inspirational, in my eyes!

Cigarettes, Wedding Bands- Band of Horses
Okay, compared to the other two songs, this one and the story behind it is incredibly lighthearted. I like to listen to Band of Horses when I'm doing crafty things or when I'm painting. That's basically it. Ha ha. Band of Horses is tied for first place with Coldplay as my favorite band. They're both just so wonderful.

Okay, well there you have it! Three, out of a billion, songs that inspire me! I find so many things and songs inspiring, so these songs were incredibly hard to narrow down. I might have to do a part two to this. Yes?

xoxo,
Sophie
